Today(26th July 2014), Friday, the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil Mr. Hayyan Abdul Ghani inaugurated the Majnoon Field Gate Bridge in Basra Governorate.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil, Mr. Hayyan Abdul Ghani, said that the implementation of this bridge project is part of the community support initiatives provided by the ministry and Basra Oil Company to the residents of areas and cities near the oil fields and facilities.

The Majnoon Field Gate Bridge is 270 meters long and 10 meters wide, located on the Suwaib Canal at the entrance to the Majnoon Field, with approaches of 525 meters on both sides. It has two lanes and a design load capacity of 200 metric tons. The bridge was constructed according to modern engineering and technical specifications. This bridge contributes to achieving high fluidity for vehicles and significantly reduces the difficulties these areas faced in dealing with floods and seasonal natural conditions.
